Overview
This project focused on the design and delivery of a real-time, mobile-first auction platform for the UK automotive trade.
The product was conceived as a startup, backed by established businesses within the automotive industry, with the ambition of modernising how dealers acquire and dispose of stock. The platform connects vetted dealers, enabling them to buy and sell vehicles through live auctions and direct purchase workflows.
Woods & Walker partnered with the founding team to design and build the core platform, delivering both the backend systems and cross-platform mobile and web applications required to support high-frequency, real-time transactions.
The Challenge
Automotive dealers operate in a fast-moving, margin-sensitive environment. Existing stock acquisition channels are often fragmented, opaque, or poorly optimised for mobile use.
The challenge was to create a platform that could:

Unified Notification System
Speed and visibility are essential in auctions.
The platform delivers notifications across multiple channels:
- In-app notifications within the web platform

Trust & Marketplace Controls
To support confidence and transparency in a B2B marketplace, the platform incorporates features designed to promote trust and accountability, including seller vetting, structured feedback mechanisms, and dispute handling workflows.
These systems help maintain quality while enabling the platform to scale.
